Mindfulness is growing in popularity in the UK now and for good reason. There is much evidence to support the fact that practicing Mindfulness can reduce the stress and anxiety and help prevent depression. In short it can help us to lead calmer, happier and more self-aware lives. MBCT is the only approach to Mindfulness to be included in the NICE guidelines as a treatment option for recurrent depression.
This course is The British Association of Mindfulness Based Approaches (BAMBA) holds a list of Mindfulness teachers who meet best practice guidelines for teaching Mindfulness. My name is on that list if you are looking for a teacher based in Derbyshire.
or people who are ready to make a commitment to living a more Mindful life and to develop the tools and techniques and strategies to support this commitment. It is for you if you are wanting to establish a meditation practice as well as deepen your self-awareness and find new ways of working with stress, anxiety, low mood and overwhelm. The course is made up of a mixture of group exercises and guided meditation practices. Also group discussion and private reflections/journal keeping.
Each course has a maximum of 10 participants on it. There are eight weekly sessions lasting 2 hours each. Written handouts will be provided each week as well the guided meditation practices you will be using. To help you get the most out of the course there is an invitation for you to practice guided meditation at home throughout the course for up to an hour a day on 6 out of 7 days of every week.
In the light of the current situation I will not be offering face to face Mindfulness courses in group settings until we are on the other side of the crisis. I am currently exploring ways to deliver the course online to a group and think this could work well using a video conferencing tool called Zoom. I already deliver the course 1-2-1 using this medium and it works well. I will share more information soon but in them meantime if you are interested please get in touch using the contact form on this website.
Here is a video I made where I talk about what is involved in an 8-week Mindfulness Course:
